Sara has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Northwestern University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Information and Data Science (MIDS) at UC Berkeley. She has over 20 years of research experience and is an Associate Teaching Professor at Northern Arizona University where teaches courses in research methods and data science. She has mentored several students in both graduate and undergraduate research projects and has received multiple teaching awards. Her recent research focuses on the role of social media in perceptions of mass shootings and school shootings.
