Bio/CV:
Genevieve Smith is the Associate Director of the Center for Equity, Gender & Leadership at Berkeley Haas and a doctoral candidate researching gender equitable AI at University of Oxford.
At Berkeley, she examines bias in large language models and linguistic justice frameworks for NLP, as well as responsible AI challenges and approaches.
She is the Gender & AI Fellow at the US Agency for International Development and a Research Affiliate at the Minderoo Centre for Technology & Democracy.
Genevieve has conducted research on gender and technology for over a decade working previously with the International Center for Research on Women, UN Women, and UN Foundation.
