Angela Liu

Angela is a second-year Masters of Information Management Student at the School of Information. Prior to Berkeley, Angela worked in healthcare finance consulting and public health nonprofit. She is interested in applications of data science to improve delivery of nonprofit and public services. Angela received her B.A. in Biology and Public Health from Williams College.

I am an MPP candidate and D-Lab fellow with five years of experience in Economics and Policy Research. My policy interests include safety net programs and racial equity. I primarily work in Stata and R, but also have experience with Python and SAS.

Enrique Valencia López is a PhD student in the Policy, Politics and Leadership cluster at the Graduate School of Education.His research interests relate to three broad areas: the stratification of education by gender, immigration status and ethnicity; the measurement of teacher working conditions and well-being; and education in Latin America.

Kelly Quinn

I am a PhD student in sociology interested in labor, precarity, and the future of work. My research draws on social theory and empirical methods to study how worker-firm power dynamics influence labor market outcomes, such as contracting rates and job quality. Prior to graduate school, I worked at a policy research organization called MDRC.

Leena holds an MBA from Indian School of Business and her Bachelor's is in Computer Engineering. Madeleine Parker

City and Regional Planning

I am a fifth-year PhD Candidate in City and Regional Planning. My dissertation examines the impacts of rezonings in Seattle on housing supply, residential mobility, and transportation outcomes. More broadly, my research focuses on increasing equity in cities at the intersection of housing, land use, and transportation policies.

I received a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Dartmouth College, and previously worked in affordable housing in New York City government.

Meiqing Li

I am a PhD Candidate in City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley. Prior to pursuing my PhD, I worked as a transportation planner in the San Francisco Bay Area. I received my Master of City Planning with a Certificate in GIS and Spatial Analysis from Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Urban Studies and Economics from the University of Hong Kong.

I am a PhD candidate in Linguistics, focusing on understanding speech characteristics of neuro-atypical populations. I use methods from Natural Language Processing.

Monica Donegan

Environmental Science, Policy, and Management

Monica is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the Environmental Science, Policy, and Management program. She uses computational tools to study the evolution and ecology of agricultural plant pathogens. Previously, she worked on a data science team at a biotech company in Boston.

Soliver Fusi

Civil and Environmental Engineering

Sol is a PhD student in environmental engineering. She studies how to recover nutrients from urine for use as fertilizer in resource extracted regions in sub Saharan Africa.

Currently, Sol is trying to understand how the information curated in academic publications influences development practice; specifically as it pertains to fertilizer application and management of agricultural soils.
