Call for Qualitative Fellow
We’re looking for a Qualitative Fellow to lead our MAXQDA Fundamentals series during the coming spring semester (with possibility to continue). This will be both online and in-person.
What is “MAXQDA Fundamentals”?
This is D-Lab's 2-hour introduction to MAXQDA for students, faculty, and researchers.
In the workshop you will help participants learn how to:
-
Download, install, and set up MAXQDA
-
Import and organize different data types (text, PDFs, spreadsheets, multimedia) into MAXQDA
-
Use manual coding and autocoding tools to label/categorize data
-
Use key analytic tools such as memos, visual summaries, summary grids, “Document Portrait,” etc. to explore patterns and themes
-
Navigate the MAXQDA interface (Document System, Code System, Document Browser, Retrieved Segments, etc.)
-
A brief overview of MAXQDA TeamCloud for collaborative work
What We Need from You (Fellow Responsibilities)
-
Lead 6 workshops during the spring semester
-
Ensure participants are prepared (e.g. MAXQDA installed ahead of time, materials distributed)
-
Use clear examples & support documents, guiding both beginners and people with some experience
-
Be comfortable with both the technical side of MAXQDA and the pedagogical side (facilitation, helping people troubleshoot, etc.)
-
Possibly help with adaptation / updating of workshop materials, collecting feedback, and refining future offerings
Commitment
-
Stipend: $1,300
-
Time commitment: Workshop facilitation + prep + coordination. And as always, D-Lab does not grade, take attendance, maintain office hours, or monitor participants.
-
Expect to begin in January 2026, and run through end of spring semester
If this sounds like you, we’d love to talk! Fill out an application here.
