Job Description:
Our Undergraduate Technicians (UTechs) are the face of D-Lab, offering support and guidance to anyone who needs assistance navigating our resources and services. This position is often people’s first (and lasting) impression of D-Lab. UTechs run the D-Lab Frontdesk and lead the charge in tabling, flyering, and advertising D-Lab’s services to the UC Berkeley campus. UTechs are also responsible for managing the email inbox, drafting content for our weekly newsletter, contributing to workshop video curation, and assisting with consultation requests and assignment to the proper resource or consultation service.

Responsibilities:

Staff the D-Lab Frontdesk in the Social Sciences Building.

Greet clients, check registrants in for events, triage appointments, check the status of consulting tickets using GitHub, assist D-Lab staff with various tasks.

Help faculty, staff, and students navigate D-Lab resources and services.

Tabling shifts (about 2 hours) around the UCB campus with advertising material.

Flyering and advertising D-Lab events around the UCB campus.

Clean and organize the D-Lab physical space, including set up for events.

Use Slack to communicate with D-Lab staff and students.

Edit workshop recordings on Zoom to share with participants.

Draft responses to email requests and inquiries.

Assist with newsletter curation and content drafting using the Mailchimp platform.

Qualifications
Required:
-
Must be an enrolled UC Berkeley undergraduate student for the Spring 2026 semester.

Must be able to commit to at least two full semesters (e.g. Spring 2026 and Fall 2026).

Must be available to work 8-15 hours per week.

Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and be able to pull a cart.

Ability to work on-site at the D-Lab in the Social Sciences Building. This position does not offer remote work.

Available Work-Study Funding is REQUIRED.

Pay Rate
This is an hourly, shift-based position. Starting rate is $19.18 per hour.
