I am a PhD student in the Astronomy department, and I study planets outside our own solar system. I'm interested in learning how the properties of host stars affect planetary systems. In my free time, I love swimming, hiking, reading, and baking.

Monica Donegan

Monica is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the Environmental Science, Policy, and Management program. She uses computational tools to study the evolution and ecology of agricultural plant pathogens. Previously, she worked on a data science team at a biotech company in Boston.

I’m a D-Lab GSR and a graduate student in The Goldman School’s Master of Public Policy/The I School’s Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Science. I have 5 years of experience working on data problems in government and nonprofits. I’m interested in social policy, program evaluation, and computational methods. Python is my principal language, but I’ve developed experience using and teaching a variety of other tools, including R, Excel, Tableau, and JavaScript. I deeply enjoy teaching data science methods and am excited to be a part of the D-Lab.

Aniket Kesari was a postdoc and data science fellow at D-Lab. He is currently a research fellow at NYU’s Information Law Institute, and will join the faculty of Fordham Law School in 2023. His research focuses on law and data science, with particular interests in privacy, cybersecurity, and consumer protection.

Sam Temlock

Sam (he/him) is a Master of Information and Data Science graduate student at the School of Information, with experience in Cybersecurity and Network Programming. He holds a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has previous experience in consulting at Deloitte. He has experience with Python, R, SQL, machine learning, data analytics, statistical analysis, and research design.

Christopher Paciorek, Ph.D.

Chris Paciorek is an adjunct professor in the Department of Statistics, as well as the Statistical Computing Consultant in the Department's Statistical Computing Facility (SCF) and in the Econometrics Laboratory (EML) of the Economics Department. He is also a user support consultant for Berkeley Research Computing. He teaches and presents workshops on statistical computing topics, with a focus on R.

Maya Samuels-Fair

Maya is an Integrative Biology Ph.D. student in the Finnegan Marine Paleobiology Lab, where she studies life-history evolution and diversity patterns in the marine invertebrate fossil record. She is happy to help with statistical analyses, data visualizations, and simulations in R. She also has recently been dabbling in image analysis, including python-based machine learning and 3D Slicer extension development, and would love to help other newcomers get started.
