Geoff Bacon

Geoff is a PhD student in the Language and Cognition lab in the Linguistics department. His research is in computational semantics, building and evaluating statistical models of the acquisition of meaning. His research also addresses the typology of tense systems across the world. He teaches Python at the D-Lab.

NLP methods in Python, including word embeddings, topic modeling, document classification, sentiment analysis, information extraction, named entity recognition, syntactic parsing, semantic role labeling, supervised machine learning approaches to text analysis, text preprocessing and web scraping.
