Meghan received her PhD in Social Welfare from UC, Berkeley in 2014, and currently works as an Assistant Professor at New Mexico State University. Her research focuses on social development and mental health, particularly for refugees, migrants, and genocide survivors. She has designed and conducted mixed methods studies that combine surveys with interviews and focus groups. Her dissertation study involved analysis using Dedoose, and she can provide guidance on when to use Dedoose, how to get the most out of Dedoose for mixed methods analysis, and when to supplement Dedoose with additional analysis using SPSS or STATA. Meghan has also conducted bilingual and multi-lingual research and can provide guidance on reverse translations of surveys and interview schedules, and on how to conduct simultaneous transcription and translation to insure the data captures participants’ meanings accurately.
